Currently a fourth year media and communications student majoring in public relations at the University of Guelph-Humber, Summer Simon is an aspiring media and communications professional with a passion for sports. Her program has encompassed scenarios including writing press releases, media and news conferences, coordinating social media content and engaging audiences, event planning and executing media campaigns. She also takes interest in event management, media relations and digital marketing.

 

Summer is currently is a radio and digital media intern at Sportsnet 590 The FAN where she is working alongside and learning from well known industry professionals in sports media. Summer has a particular interest in the sports industry as sports have played a large role in her life having been actively involved in equestrian, golf, soccer, swimming and snowboarding since childhood.  She is also an avid hockey, football and baseball fan and follower.

 

Looking forward, Summer is hoping to seize opportunities within her desired field and expand her knowledge of the industry through any related form of opportunity.
